MILES UPDATE

MILES

Hi Efurryone!! Ferst, I want to say FANK YOU for all of the concern and nice werds and helpful suggestions about what's wrong wif me, and also the truly wonderful generosity you all haf shown us. Mommy's eyes haf been so leaky efurrytime she checks her email. I wented back to the v-e-t this morning and saw the owner of the hospital - he's furry nice and I didn't pee on him. I peed on the assistant, again. I told her I was sorry and I guess she doesn't hate me. The v-e-t thinks that I might either somefing called "ideopathic feline vestibular disease" or a tumor. Because this has happened before and it's rare that a kitty has more than one episode of that. So I has to go into the v-e-t for a whole day for tests - on Thursday ::SIGH::

Tabbymom Jen here. Vestibular disease would be like the vertigo I mentioned. Vestibular is related to the balance mechanism in the inner ear. In vertigo, the room seems to be spinning, so lying still feels best.
But I stopped studying this 15 years ago, so don't take my word for it.
Does Miles eat bananas? Potassium might help.

Miles, we's still purrin like crazy fur you. On House, a bean ate ham an gotted a tape worm in hers brain. I hope it's not ham dat's made you sick!
Purrs, Victor

Mommy says that when you are sick, nobody gits made when you pee on them. Please don't worry 'bout it and we are sure the vet assistant does not hate you. We are still prayin' for you, sweet boy. Just do whatever they tell you to do and keep fightin' hard to git better.

We love you, Miles!

We looked up the long name and it seems that might be the better "choice" to have wrong with you but we're not experts. But we are sure rooting for you to get well soon! Don't worry about going to the vet for a whole day Thursday. Just think of all the folks you can pee on in an entire day!

Whimpurr said...

Miles, we are praying for you right along with our own Tucker who is having almost the exact same problem as you! Whimpurr has read all about vestibular disease online too and the symptoms are exactly what Tucker is having. We want you to know how much we appreciate your kindness in sharing your donation money to help us pay Tucker's bill as well! He still won't eat so he is having to spend the weekend at the vet's office. Whimpurr is sad that she has to leave him alone in that strange place.

Oh Miles. We are glad to hear that your vets have reached a starting place. We just hope the news is good from here.

I know often times idiopathic vestibular disease can be seen on x-rays when the cause is middle ear, so I will be keeping my fingers crossed that if this is what you have, your vet can find on an x-ray instead of having to put you through the more costly MRI.

We are purring and praying for you!

Oh gosh Miles, now you have to wait more days and days to find out?!

Here, have some ham. (places big pile in front of Miles) I had some at breakfast and it was really good.

Miles how old are you? Very often even if it is a tumor they are operable. We know because these were the issues we had with Georgia. Also, I believe Latte had one and they did do the surgery (Georgia is too old)

I am very glad that you got seen by a vet who knows something. And I hope that you get much much better.

Max said...

Dooood! A whole day at the stabby place! That bites. Even with the fun drugs, it bites. Go ahead and pee on more people...or worse. They can take it. It's their JOB to take it!

I have paws crossed that whatever it is turns out to be easy to fix. Tumors are scary deals but sometimes they're easy to yank out. And then people feel sorry for you so you get the best treats and laps on demand. Still, I hope that's not it. Maybe lots of ear wax jammed in your ear making you dizzy. That would be easy.

Miles, we think it sux that you have to spend the whole day at the vet but if they can find out what is wrong with you and fix you then it's worth it....we are purraying for you...

We googled vestibular disease, and that certainly sounds better than a tumor. We think that maybe Sammy whapped you silly one time too many, Miles. We are purring for it to clear up even before you have to go back to the Vet. Purrs and more puurs.

Oh Miles, we are so glad you saw the more experienced vet today. If they could get you in for tests on Monday that would be so much better than having to wait, it must be miserable for you all. We hope it turns out to be a vestibular infection. Have you ever had herpes virus? We know this can migrate around near it's home site (often the eyes in cats)and in times of stress can cause flare ups. We are sending you our heartiest rumbly purrs so that the cause is found and you can be treated, getting well soonest. We send all of you love and hugs.

We're glad that you got to see the more experienced v-e-t Miles. Don't worry too much about peeing on anyone when you visit the v-e-t, 'cos we're sure they understand. We hope that they can work out exactly what's wrong and then fix you up. Sending purrs and purrayers to you and your whole family,

I am glad that you got the see the more experienced vet and have a starting place to find out what is wrong with you. It sucks that you have to spend the whole day at the vet and wait until Thursday to do it, as well. I hope that the tests will pinpoint your problem and that it is easy to fix. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Miles,
Sending out long-distance love to you. Get better buddy! I personally think its hilarious that you pee'd on the drs. and the assts. That sounds like something my brother, Darby, would do. I have to go to the vet a lot too. I have kidney disease and reoccuring bladder stones - not so good for an ol' girl like me (almost 16! wanna go for a ride when I get my license?) But, I like Dr. McMurphy - she's really nice and visits me a lot and when I meow really loudly all the assts come running and give me treats and scratch my belly. You should try it. Keep me posted & Merry Catmas!
Love, Lilly

(You can check me out here: http://petknows.com/ I'm the Siamese (obvi) and Darby is the big fat tabby next to the Parrot.

Good bye my sweet Nicky

Good bye my sweet sweet Nicky.  You has a hard time sometimes with your brain injury, but you were always so sweet.  I love you to the moon...
