Happy Mommy's Day Mommy
Happy Mother's day Mommy. Even though you hate it when I stare at you all night, I only do it because I am making sure that you don't stop breathing or anything in the middle of the night. I don't want to have to use my CPR training. For your Mommy's day present, I will not stare at you all night. (MM's note: I guess old habits are hard to break. I'm sure if you actually didn't stare at me all night, I would miss it, I'm glad I didn't have to find out)
SAMMY Happy Mommy's day to the bestest Mommy in the werld. I love you so much and I'm glad that you letted me stay wif you when you finded me in the garden 2 years ago. Even though you hate it when I sleep on your face, I do it to be close to you. For your Mommy's day present, I will not sleep on your face all night. (MM's note: Well, you didn't sleep on my face ALL night, just 5 hours. I don't know what I would do if I could actually move my head during the night. I'm glad I didn't have to find out)
MILES Happy Mommy's day Mommy! I love you furry much, even though you hate it when I stick my tongue up you nose when you are sleeping. For your Mommy's day present, I will not lick the inside of your nose all night. (MM's note: Well, you didn't lick the inside of my nose ALL night, just 4 times. I don't know how I would react if I didn't wake up with a wet nose. I'm glad I didn't have to find out)
Happy Mommy's Day to all of the cat blogging Mommies, and to all ofer Mommies who take care of poodins, woofies, buns, and ofer critters!

UFO?
So, I was looking out the patio door last night, and it was really windy and rainy. Mommy was trying to watch a hockey game on TV, but she said that the wind was making the satellite pikshur bad. I was looking outside and all of a sudden I saw this round thing flying through the air! It was flying right near our patio! Then it landed right near the edge of the patio! I whapped the window wif my paw, which got Mommy's attenshun, and she said "is the orange kitty out there? Oh dear, it's raining really hard, he should be home", but I just kept whapping the window. Mommy looked but could not see anyfing at first. Then she saw it too!!! She said "uh oh, look at that Sammy! It's a UFO!" A UFO?????? Holy poop! I heard about those things, and I don't want one in my back yard. I ran upstairs. After a little while, I came back downstairs and Mommy wented outside and picked up the UFO - I was really scared, because what if the tooked her away in it?? She broughted it right up to the patio and put it down there, and came inside and told me it was ok - it was just our plastic kiddie pool that turned upside down and flew away in the wind. That was really mean, getting me all worried like that.

What the heck is a "woodchuck"?
Miles would like to thank efurryone for the purrfday wishes. He's a little hung over this morning - too much fun and too much food yesterday.
We hadded some 'citement last night in the back yard. There's a woofie that lives behind us named Dutchess. She was outside running back and forth for no reason, as woofies do, when this THING waddled across the yard. It was really short and really fat and all brown. It was so fat that it's stomach dragged on the ground. Dutchess started barking really loud and getting all 'acited, and the fat thing kept waddling towards her. It got about halfway between our patio and their patio and stopped, and Dutchess ran forward really fast, then jumped really high into the air and yelped really loud. It was so funny. Mommy said that she has an "invisible fence" around her house so that she doesn't run away, and it "zaps" her when she gets too close. I gues she forgotted 'about it, 'acause she jumped really really high. It even scared the fat brown thing and it waddled away. Mommy said it was called a "woodchuck". I don't know what that is, does anyone have "woodchucks" in their yards?

Miles is still barfy. He barfed on Mommy's foot last night. She didn't even get mad. But that was the only time he was barfy all day, so I wonder if he's just looking for attention. He's all 'acited that tomorrow is his 1st purrfday. He wants a big ham loaf.
Mommy was following me all around this morning trying to get me to eat breakfast - but all I wanted to do was play wif the Cat Dancer toy. It's so much fun. She thinks I'm sick 'acause I don't eat in front of her. Sheesh, I don't get all worried that she's going to drop over in front of me just 'acause she doesn't eat in front of me all the time! She shur doesn't look like she's
an-or-x-ik to me. Then she rubs my tummy and tells me that I'm getting FAT. Well, which is it lady? Am I not eating enuf or am I fat? I swear, her brain is GONE.

We're Home!!

We're finally home. We hadded to ride in the big metal monster again yesterday. For a LONG time. But we hadded a good time wif Daddy. Here's a pikshur of me in the skylight! It was really close to the ceiling - I could almost stand on the ceiling!
Oh, and the bedroom window was really low to the floor, so I could sit in it. And there was BIRDS in the tree right outside the window. BABY birds! I watched them for a long time - I even gave up a few naps to watch them. Sammy said I was a window hog 'acause there was only room for one in the window. So, after a while, I letted him look. He looked for a couple of minutes then wented back under the bed.
Sammy did not like going away at all. Once we gotted to Daddy's house, he ran and hid - ferst under the chair and then under the bed. Here's the only pikshur mommy could get of him. You can only see his eyes:

and WOW! Trixie actually POOPED on Mommy while she was driving! Trixie is not good in a carrier, she usually will just lay on top of it if Mommy lets her out, but for some reason, she started wandering around and to onto Mommy while she was driving, and then POOPED on her shirt! OH was Mommy MAD. She made Trixie get in the carrier wif us until we gotted to Daddy's - Mommy said it was ony 10 miles, but it seemed like furever. When we was leaving home, Mommy picked her up to carry her out to the metal monster, and she PEED on her, so she was really not happy, 'acause she hadded to go and change her clothes 'afore we even lefted.
Trixie was really good on the ride home - here's a pikshur of her enjoying the sun and the ride home:

We hadded a good time wif Daddy, and he says to say Thank You for all of your nice werds about Norton.
OH! I almost forgotted! Sammy tried to play vampire wif me and I gots a BIG OWIE on my neck - see!

It really hurted!
Trixie was not the only one to do gross things though. I was really 'ascared for a while, and my tummy felted yucky after I ated, so I barfed lots at Daddy's house. Mommy said I was "car sick" 'acause I barfed again when we gotted home. But I feel better today. 'Cept I still gots the big owie on my neck.
We are planning on just laying around on all the stuff that smells like us today.

And the beat goes on......
MILES
It has been sad around here for a few days. Wif Grampa Norton gone, Mommy has been furry sad. We all have been furry grateful and humbled by all the nice werds that poodins and people (and bunnies too!) have said about Grampa Norton.
Mommy gotted Sammy and me a new toy the ofer day, a Cat Dancer toy. She putted it up on the patio window for us, and we like playing wif it. We were playing wif it last night, and it maded Mommy laugh, and she tickled our bellies and we wiggled all over the place. We askded her if it was ok to laugh yet, and she said that it was ok. But Sammy felt kind of bad about having fun, and he gotted upset and barfed on the rug. Mommy gotted a new monster to clean the rugs last weekend, so she gotted it out. From what I can tell, the new monster pees on the rug, then swirls around in circles, then sucks efurryfing up and then it starts beeping like crazy. It's kind of gross. She says it's called a Spot Bot. All I know is that it leaves a wet spot on the rug, and we are not allowed to leave wet spots on the rug in our house. I fink it should have to move out.

After Sammy barfed, he ran upstairs to the people's littlebox room and jumped on the windowsill. Mommy tolded me to make shur he was ok, so I did. Mommy said I was a furry good boy, so she gived me some HAM. Then she tooked all of us into the bedroom and we had a nap pile for a little while.
I fink that we are gonna to go visit our daddy this weekend, so we has to go in the big metal monster for a LONG time - mommy says almost 5 hours. We plan on singing along to the radio at the top of our lungs for the whole time. Mommy should like that.

Thank you

Trixie
I would like to thank efurryone for all of their very kind words for my brofur Norton. And also thank you to efurryone who visited him at his Rainbow Bridge site (link is in our blogroll) and sent a card or note. Mommy let us see all of the cards and notes, and she read all of the comments to us last night. I miss him furry much, but I know that he is happy and playing wif Ralphie. I know that he will come for me when it is my time - the V-E-T says that in people years, I'm almost 88. But I still have my girlish figure and still weigh what I did when I was a youngster - 7 lbs. Norton and I were always kind of small.
What was I talking about? Oh, yes, Thank you all again for all of your thoughts, purrayers and headbutts. They mean the world to us and to our Mommy and Daddy. Mommy says it's really nice to know that there is a whole cat-munity out there that understands and doesn't criticize and say "oh, it was just a cat". Cats are people too.

Good Bye Puddin Pop

Sweet Norton
You came into our lives on a warm summer evening in 1988. Abandoned with your brothers and sister on the side of a road in New Haven, Ct. One of you ran into the woods, another went with another person who happened upon the scene, and you and your sister came home with us. Maybe you were 5 weeks old. How cute you both were curled up together in the bathroom. We could not part with you. 2 years later, we got you a brother. You were mother to him, as your sister was just too jealous at first. Norton and Ralph, 2 inseperable friends.
You were the smart one. I knew you understood me when I spoke to you - and you proved it one day. Walking around the house with some newly washed socks in your mouth, you heard me say "Norton, put those back in the basket" and you turned around, walked back to the basket and dropped them there. That was the last time you ever let on that you understood me.
I think your Daddy and I lost 8 lives when you almost died from crystals in your urine. God led us to Dr Mishricki, who lived right down the street and we never knew it until that afternoon. You were hours away from going to the bridge and he was a miracle worker. He gave us 14 more years with you.
I think you spent somewhere around 5,000 nights curled up on the top of the couch behind me, punching me in the head every 20 minutes or so, and then putting your head on my shoulder and going to sleep.
Stealing cookies. Licking all the powdered sugar off the donuts in the box. Your love of bread. Your fear of the grass. Sitting in the middle of your circle of toys and crying when Ralphie went to the bridge. Mothering the next generation, Sammy and Miles.
Sweet, gentle Norton. Always wanting to be pet, but not wanting to be held. You preferred to just be near and touch with a paw or two. Always your daddy's best buddy.
You spent your lifetime purring non stop. When you did stop, we knew you were sick.
Ralphie came calling for you at 4:4oam this morning. Go and run and play with your little brother, your best friend. Keep an eye on your sister Trixie and come for her when it is her time. Watch over the little ones and any more that may come after. Let me see you in the shadows on occasion, as it is always harder for those of us left behind. Wait for Daddy and me. We will come for you when it is our time, and we will all cross the Bridge together into forever. You were more loved than you know, and the hole in our hearts will never be filled.
Rest well little puddin pop.

Know what's fun?

SAMMY
Sitting on the table next to the bed and throwing efurrything off it - and into Mommy's head while she's sleeping.
Then, when she wakes up, getting back into bed and snuggling her so that she won't get mad.
Then doing it all again once she goes back to sleep.
Know what else is fun? Going down into the dungeon where the litterbox is and yowling really really loud, running really fast up the stairs and through the house and then back down the stairs again. It makes Mommy thing that there is a bug of somefing down there, and she comes looking for it.
But you know what the bestest fun is? sticking your paw in a dish of ice cream while she's eating it. And then when she give it all to you, walking away.
Good bye my sweet Nicky
Good bye my sweet sweet Nicky. You has a hard time sometimes with your brain injury, but you were always so sweet. I love you to the moon...
